Zacharia Izrael Laizer joined Maasai Steppe Carnivore Conservation Trust (MCCT)
on August 2022 as a Research Assistant (Community Liaison). In this role, he
collaborates with the team and other Conservation stakeholders in promoting
Natural resources conservation and promoting Human wildlife coexistence
through Community Sensitization meeting, Conservation film showing,
Monitoring and collecting data on livestock predation incidences for identifying
conflict hotspots which used in initiating some of the conflict mitigation
techniques such as predator proof enclosures.
Zacharia has a Bachelor degree in Community Economic Development from Moshi
University College of Cooperative and Business Studies (MUCCoBS) which
provided him with a solid foundation in the field.
Zacharia is passionate in serving the community, and he is committed to use his
knowledge and skills to help his community to understand the importance of
conserving their natural resources for better living. He believes that Sustainable
Conservation can be successful and attained only when there is a) good
relationship between Conservation authorities and local communities, and b) local
community to be valued and engaged in conservation.
